The 264,000 sf Armand Hammer Museum and Cultural Center consists of a two-story museum with an open-air promenade and garden atrium, a 235-seat auditorium/performing arts center, a library, a bookstore, a restaurant and a five-story, 670-space underground parking structure. The main entrance and lobby are located on the ground floor of the Occidental Petroleum office tower in Los Angeles. The building's exterior is clad with hand selected white and gray Italian marble. The complex was erected to house Dr. Armand Hammer's $400 million art collection and to provide cultural and meeting facilities for Occidental Petroleum and other corporate and institutional entities.
The JCM Group was selected by Occidental Petroleum to provide construction management services, including budgeting, cost control, schedule management, value engineering and construction contract administration. This project was completed on a "fast track" basis.
