The first "essential services facility" in California, this Civic Center complex incorporates a combined City Hall and police facility and a freestanding child development center in a park-like setting. The 190,000 SF City Hall includes a space for city administrative offices and council chambers, as well as the Police Department that occupies 54,000 SF and showcases state-of-the-art design features and equipment, thus making it a model for other municipalities. The 10,000 SF child development center houses child care services for 100 children between the ages of six months and nine years.
